This event aims to educate and give awareness to all consumers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by doing awareness and educational campaigns that may contribute in spreading awareness and give full definition of the rights and obligations of GCC consumers, besides warning against the temptations of the rapid profit in all its forms and manifestations.
MCI confirmed the continuation of its role in organizing periodic campaigns for raising the awareness of the consumer regarding his rights and protection, as well as to receive complaints and notification relating to fraud and manipulation, in addition to warn against the misleading commercials, and to share the views and opinions of the public on developing the rules and regulations, in a way commensurate with the local environment and to be consistent with the best compared regulatory practices.
It is worth mentioning that the States of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) celebrate the event of Gulf Consumer week on the first of March every year, this is within the joint cooperation and coordination among the GCC States, with the participation of a number of government agencies, Chambers of Commerce and Industry and companies. Part of the event would be allocated for raising the awareness about the consumer`s role in cooperating with the official authorities regarding anti-commercial fraud and all harmful business practices.
On this occasion, MCI would like to reconfirm its permanent and continuous keenness to regulate and organize the business practices in the Kingdom and to develop the work environment. MCI welcomes all opinions and suggestions received in this regard.
