All Quantities were confiscated before being sold in the Local Markets
MCI inspectors had detected illegal labors, storing large quantities of counterfeit tea packets for famous brand inside a rest house in Al Manakh quarter, south of Riyadh.
MCI inspectors seized about 4 thousand counterfeit empty red tea packets, bearing the brand of “ Al Rabe`a Tea”, ready to be filled and stored, in addition to special machines used to print and forge the tea envelopes. All the quantities were confiscated, while those responsible were summoned by MCI for investigation and taking the necessary legal measures against them.
This came after MCI had implemented inspection campaigns targeted warehouses and random rest houses, exploited by illegal labors for storing anonymous foodstuffs and consuming commodities, in cooperation and coordination with the joint security campaigns.
MCI would like to emphasize that it will continue its inspection rounds on warehouses and all commercial institutions, to ensure their regular works, and the absence of fraud practices and manipulation on consumers, and to stop exploiting the demand for purchase in selling and marketing counterfeit and adulterated products.
MCI stresses that it will not tolerate in imposing the legal penalties on violators and those involved in the practice of fraud, and all that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
