The Ministry of Commerce has defamed a citizen and resident of an Egyptian nationality following the issuance of a judicial ruling convicted them of violating the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law. It has been proved that the citizen is enabling the resident to engage in the activity of trading fodder and agricultural crops in the city of Riyadh through his own private Est.

The evidence showed the large volume of financial transactions of the resident with companies, institutions and individuals, in addition to assuming the tasks of operating the Est., collecting revenues and profits, besides transferring money abroad, as well as managing the Est. as if he were the real owner.

The Ministry has published the judicial ruling issued by the Criminal Court in Riyadh, imposing a fine on the violators, the closure of the Est., liquidation of its trade activity, cancellation of its license, writing off the commercial registration, the collection of zakat, fees and taxes, preventing the citizen of practicing the same trade activity, besides deporting the expat from the Kingdom after the execution of the ruling and not to be allowed to return for work, in addition to defamation by publishing the ruling in a local newspaper at the expense of the violators.

It is worth mentioning that MC grants a financial reward to those who report a commercial cover-up crime, amounting to 30% of the total fines imposed after collection. The fine may reach one million riyals for each offender.

The Ministry of Commerce urges all citizens and residents in all regions of the Kingdom to report cases of commercial cover-up through the Ministry's Consumer Call Center (1900), or through an application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's website.
