 The Ministry of Commerce Defames an Expat Condemned of Running an Est. for Selling Computer and Communication Devices in Qassim

A Traffic Accident Leads to the Seizure of more than half a million riyals with the Expat

The Ministry of Commerce has defamed an Indian expat after a judicial ruling convicting him of violating the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law. A citizen has been enabling the expat to engage in an illegal trade activity through his Est. that specializes in importing and trading of computers, communication devices, office equipment, photocopiers together with their spare parts and maintenance in Al-Badae’a Governorate, Qassim.
 
In details, during a traffic accident belonging to the expat’s car, the security authorities have seized more than half a million riyals with the expat, who was going to deliver the amount to Riyadh. After carrying out the necessary investigation and detecting material evidences, a case of commercial concealment has been proved. Therefore, those involved were summoned by MC and the case was referred to the judicial authorities for taking the legal measures in accordance with the Anti-Commercial Concealment Law.
 
The Ministry has published the content of the judicial ruling issued by the Criminal Court in Buraidah, imposing a fine, closure of the facility, liquidation of its activity, cancellation of its license, writing off the commercial registration, preventing the owner from practicing the same trade activity, collecting zakat, fees, and taxes, besides deporting the expat from the Kingdom after the execution of the verdict and not to be allowed to return for work, also defamation by publishing the judgment in a local newspaper at the expense of the offender.
 
The Ministry of Commerce urges all citizens and residents in all regions of the Kingdom to report any cases of commercial cover-up through MC Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the Ministry's website.
 
It is worth noting that MC grants a financial reward to the informer about the crime of commercial cover up, which may reach to 30% of the total fines imposed after collection. The fine may reach one million riyals for one offender.
